'Cityscapes and Soul: Finding Home Beneath London’

As an international student from Hong Kong, I arrived in London 7 years ago with a passion for art, architecture and a desire to explore the city's cultural landscape.

Drawing upon my existing practice-based research into the intersections of art, memory, and the navigation of spaces, I immersed myself in creating art that reflected my experiences of exploring London for the first time and finding inspiration in the city's diverse communities.

This film, 'Cityscapes and Soul: Finding Home Beneath London,' is the culmination of my journey, weaving together my personal exploration of London’s transportation systems with my artistic practice. Through immersive cinematography and narrative storytelling, I aim to inspire viewers to reflect upon their own distinct experiences of the London Underground and how different these may be compared to another fellow traveller. Although the Underground is a shared experience for all Londoners, each individual's journey through its bustling corridors and underground passages is unique and personal. My film aims to celebrate the transformative role of art and filmmaking in our understanding of the world, and the importance of cultivating curiosity, creativity, and cultural empathy toward others.

By highlighting the artistic beauty woven into the fabric of our urban landscapes I invite viewers to join me on a captivating exploration of city life, cultural diversity, and personal growth, while developing a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of humanity.
